We made Florida golf history with the FSGA
· Pine Royale is the first synthetic green golf course in Florida to be rated by the FSGA. Official scores now count.
Pine Royale is officially the first synthetic green golf course in the state of Florida to be rated by the FSGA.
That is a nice sentence, but here is what it actually does for your game: the par-54 course now carries official Course and Slope Ratings, which means rounds played here can be posted as official scores and counted toward a real handicap.
It is worth saying why that matters on this course in particular. Synthetic greens do not have a good week and a bad week. They putt the same in August as they do in January, the same the morning after a storm as they do in a dry spell — three hundred and sixty-five days a year. A handicap built on them is built on the same surface every time.
Where to find it
The new handicap table is up by the pro shop. Check your ratings there, then book a tee time and start posting.
